FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - FAQs

  • No, we can only employ staff for long-term positions.
  • 60 to 90 days, depending on the assignment of available job vacancies in the Labor Office and the complexity of the profile.
  • Generally all the salaries must be identical to those of Slovak workers, the minimum is 600€ per month net.
  • Accommodation is paid for by the employee.
  • One possible option is that the employer covers the cost of accommodation and in turn cuts it from employee’s wages.
  • No, residence permits are usually for 12 or 24 months.
  • After 50% of the length of the stay has passed, the employee can ask for a permit extension.
  • A confirmation is required from the employer about extending the contract.
  • After 5 years it is possible to ask for permanent residence.
  • A Skype interview with a translator, and then candidates come to Slovakia and personally submit the application at the Foreign Police.
  • Or a second option is a personal interview and straight afterwards the candidates submit the application to the Foreign Police.
  • This requires accelerated feedback from the client.
  • Before arrival of the candidates, what must be checked is whether 20 working days have passed since the publishing of the report of available job vacancies, and whether interest in hiring citizens of third countries was mentioned in the application.
  • A list of jobs for which there is a shortage of employees is valid from the 26th of June – if you find your position there, you don’t need to wait for a period of 20 days after the job listing is published.
  • No, UPSVAR do not issue , or more precisely do not send any statements to applicants.
  • The Foreign police communicate directly with UPSVAR, and while giving permits verify if everything is according to the law on the side of the employer.
  • The Labor Office grants the approval of available job vacancies to citizens of third countries only to those employers who have not broken the law in illegal employment within the last two years prior to submitting the temporary stay application for the purpose of employment in Slovakia.
